  • 1.  SEPM Security Status does not update

I installed SEP v.11.  Under Home - Security Status - Intrusion Prevention Signature Failures, it shows that 1 computer's signature is out-of-date.  When I checked the PC it shows that Network Threat Protection is on, with updated definitions and no problems detected.

I refreshed the console many times but Security Status is still not updated.  Please give me some ideas I can try to fix this issue.  Thanks.

    Hi Lester,

                        Please try the following steps.

Check the connectivity of SEPM and the client...ping command

Check the policy serial number on the SEPM conssole as well as on the client side. If the policy serial number is the same that means there is no communication issue.

Create a new group and try moving the client to that group.

Try creating a new package and deploying it to the machine in question.

Hi Sandip_sali, when I got to the office this morning the Security Status is now updated.  How long is it supposed to be updated?  It seems like it's only updated once a day or every morning.

Here are the results of the test.
    1.  Ping from client to server works fine.
    2. The policy serial number of the client and the group are the same.

I'm going to deploy some more clients and monitor how fast Security Status is updated.

The clients should update the server to what their status is based on the heartbeat interval.  Check what your heartbeat is set to by clicking on Clients, click the group you want, click the policies tab then communication settings.

If you're in Push mode, the client is supposed to keep the connection to the server so no heartbeat is needed but it's not clear how often clents report their status in push mode.

RickJDS, thanks for the reply.  My heartbeat interval is 5 minutes and I'm in push mode.  Somehow SEPM is now updated.  It also helps restarting the clients.
