    Hello,
I have a sep management server running at one of our locations. We have 5 locations in total that all use the sepm to get the updates. My question for now…. I need to move my sepm off of the current subnet that its on and move it to a different location that has a different subnet. I don’t have an questions about connectivity between all the location when that move is made, my question is will I need to change anything on the sepm server itself before moving it to the new subnet. Say my server had an ip address of 192.168.1.222, and after moving it that ip will change to 10.22.96.111. Will all the clients know where to find the server after I have moved it? We don’t use domains in the company, so I was guessing that the clients look for the specific Ip address of the sepm server to get virus updates, policy updates, etc… Basically I just need to make sure that clients still know how to find the sepm server to get everything updated.  I really appreciate any help you can offer because I will be having to make this move tomorrow. Of course I was just told about it, thanks again.

     Before hand
    Create a Management server list

    Add Priority1 - SEPM Servername and IP192.168.1.222
    Priority2 - SEPM Servername and IP10.22.96.111

Then assign this Server LIst to all your groups.
So after that even if you move your Server to diffrent IP your clients won't be orphaned as they will know that 192.x.x.x is not available they can go to 10.x.x.x

thanks for the help guys. I got the new server list assigned and will be physically moving the server tomorrow. If there were clients that were shutdown when I assinged the new server list will they be out of luck if I move the server before they are turned on? I had two machines that looked like they were off, so I assume they couldnt take get the changes assigned that i made. Thanks.

That is correct. So for them you will have to replace sylink.xml on them manually.
