If you run the liveupdate from the SEPM , what is the error that you get?

    Hi Brawn,

There are a couple of different possibilities.  One is that a specific set of definitions has been configured by policy for that client group!  It's more likely, though, that the SEPM is (for one reason or another) not offering up what the SEP clients are looking for.

Prachand is correct that a bit more info is needed--- the log.liveupdate from an affected client will be very useful.  It is also important to know what specific defs are not updating - AV?  PTP?  Everything?

Also: do these clients retrieve directly from the SEPM, or from a GUP, or from an internal LiveUpdate Administrator 2.x server on the network-?

As there have been many improvements over recent versions, it will also be important to know the version of SEP on the SEPM and the SEP client- can that info be supplied?

Also: check out the LU status on the SEPM- what exact versions of definitions is it making available to clients?

What that info in hand,  the community members can likely steer you in the right direction.

    Thanks and best regards,

    Mick

Download the virus definition file and run , then see next scheduled or live update launched one is showing the correct def version..
    http://www.symantec.com/business/security_response/definitions/download/detail.jsp?gid=savce

Or else as pete said go for jdb method

To Download the .JDB Rapid Release definitions:

    1. In a browser, go to the following URL: http://www.symantec.com/business/security_response/definitions/download/detail.jsp?gid=rr
    2. Download the available .JDB file and save the file to the Windows desktop.

To use the .JDB file to update definitions for Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager:

    1. After downloading, rename the file extension from ".zip" to ".jdb". (Most browsers detect the file type and automatically change the extension. This must be changed back to .JDB for use in the SEPM.)
    2. Copy the .JDB file to the "C:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\data\inbox\content\incoming" (The location listed in this line is the default installation location and is presented as an example only).
    3. In a period of time from 30 seconds to a minute, the .JDB file will be processed. As the .JDB file is processed, all files and subfolders are removed from the "Incoming" folder.

    Thanks to All,

Mahesh,  H've updated as you have given, but still the manager version is not getting updated.

it had the Latest symantec version as 101115 ver 002 / Latest Manager Version as 101109 ver002.

When looked in the path inetpub path, could see the folder 101115 ver 002 (full.zip) not extracted and not getting updated.

On checking the live update logs, LUALL.exe and other things are mentioned as updated.

am able to push the clients with setup.exe through ip only, not with the hostnames

Please guide if anything else to be done.
