SEPM Service missing

I am installing a replication partner in a remote site. This keeps failing after 4 hours of replication with this error "Connection is already closed."
I think this is caused by the fact that I can not telnet over port 8443 to this remote site.
Then I found out that the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager (semsrv.exe) is not listed in the Services.
What happened? And more important, how can I fix it.
I have done the installion at least 10 times and I keep having the same problem. 2 other sites were installed without this problem.

    Thank you!

how you are checking teh service.

    services.msc?

    or task manager.

if by taskmanager make sure you have checked show process from all users :)

    Tried that, doesn't help unfortunately.
I will see if I can find another server to install it on.

1 - log in one of the SEPM console

    2 - Go to Admin,--->Servers --->local site

3 - click on "Add Existing Replication Partner", the window "Specify Existing Replication Partner Wizard" appears

4 - in the window "Specify Existing Replication Partner Wizard", enter the IP address of the replication partner and the System Administrator credentials of the replication partner then validate

5- the replication would intalize but after a while the error message ay appear Caught IOExpection: Java.io.IOException: JZ0C0: Connection is

6- so restart from step 3 and in the window "Specify Existing Replication Partner Wizard", re - enter the IP address of the replication partner and the System Administrator credentials of the replication partner then validate

    already closed

Tried that too: "Failed to connect to the specified replication partner server. Verify that the server name and port are correct"

Server name is correct. Port is 8443 and the problem is that I can not open a telnet session over this port to the new server. Probably because the SEPM service isn't registered.

     Try this
    • Go to a command prompt and run wbemtest
    • Click the Connect button
    • Replace root\default with root\securitycenter and click Connect
    • You will be returned to the original screen, now click the Enum Classes button, leave the Superclass info box that appears as is (empty) and click OK
    • On the Query Results screen, highlight AntivirusProduct and choose the Delete button.
    • Close the Query windows and exit wbemtest
Reinstall SEPM in remote site then try to replicate

@Rafeeq, I installed via VNC connected to the console.

@Aravind1984: On step 3 at connect I get the following error:

    Number: 0x8004100e
    Facility: WMI
    Description: Invalid namespace

    Go to start - run - %temp%
can you post the SEPM_INST.log here,
look for return value 3, paste 15 lines above and below return value 3

I have searched for "return value 3" in the log file but it's not there.
I assume you get this when the installation fails? At the end of the log it says "Installation operation completed successfully"...
