I'm also getting the SEPM "Unable to communicate with the reporting component" when opening the manger.

I've read thrugh several of the Forums post and nothing seems to help.

This SEP server doubles as a WSUS server.

    I'm running SEP 11.

I'm using an exteral SQL server as my database.

I tested the ODBC connection and that passes.

I think I might be missing the IIS web site but not sure.

The only 2 web sites listed in IIS is "Default Web Site" and "WSUS Administration".  Can someone check to see if I'm missing the SEP web site?

If I am missing it, is there a way I create it without a complete reinstall?

Any help would be GREALY appreciated.

if you expand your default websit you will see symantec web server
rigth click on reporting virtual directory and select browse
check if you have added the network service and anonymous access is checked.

Unable to communicate with the reporting component after logging into the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager

If you dont find symantec webserver, in default and also in WSus do a repair from add/remove programs of SEPM
