Hi,

I am using SEP 11.0.5.  One of the Group of the SEPM which is on a WAN is not getting updated in the SEPM.  My boys physically visited the branch, updated new version & copied the virus updates from an updated system into ("C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\VirusDefs" ) location, but the same is not updated in the SEPM console.  none of the systems are shown there.

I am sure that there is no problem in the network since outher application in the branch on WAN is functioning fine.

hi

the updating procedure for sep is different

seems like the clients are not communicating with sepm

try the secars test and communication troubleshooting, once clients have green dot they should get definitions from the manager, check windows firewall it should be turned off

is the SEPM updated? If yes

is the SEPM updated? If yes run the sylink watcher on the client machine to know the reason why it is not getting the update. Post the sylink logs here.

You may also want to follow client server troubleshooting guide

  Whether SEPM is present

Whether SEPM is present in the branch or GUP is present?

Try by running luall.exe from start--->run and see what is the result...

There are multiple ways to get update for SEPM?

It can get update from LUA or from Internet liveupdate severs. It cam also get updated through replication with another SEPM..

Which is the way you are using here for updating your SEPM..?
