  • 1.  SEPM upgrade and passwords

Want to make sure I have working passwords prior to upgrading SEPM form 12.1.3.to 12.1.4 running MSSQL. I have the local SEPM 'admin' password but not sure about MSSQL and want to test first; if that makes sence.

    Which ones are needed?

    Thank you!

    Hi,

You don't need to MSSQL password when you upgrading your SEPM.

If you want to recover your MSSQL password check this articles Applies on SEPM 12.x

You don't need any passwords to upgrade. You simply run the setup.exe file and walk thru the process.

Once done, you can use your credentials to login to the SEPM.

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Symantec community.

If you are able to login with 'Admin' credentials you will be able to login after an upgrade as well.

There is no password needed to do the upgrade, just run setup.exe and walk thru the steps

    Hi,

The Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager supports two modes of SQL Server database authentication:

    • Windows Authentication mode

    • Mixed mode

Microsoft SQL Server can be configured to use either Windows Authentication or Mixed mode authentication. Mixed mode authentication allows the use of either Windows or SQL Server credentials. When SQL Server is configured to use Mixed mode, Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager may be set to use either Windows Authentication or Mixed mode authentication. When SQL Server is set to use Windows Authentication mode, Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager must also be configured to use Windows Authentication mode.

You need to find out which mode you are implemented.

Refer this article to find out the info related to SQL you looking for:
