I have seen the documents of upgrade the version in SEPM 12.1.4.1a.

There mention that this version only have the upgrade of SEPM Server not for clients.

I have one site in which SEPM version is 11.0.7 mp3.

If i can upgrade my SEPM then how can client will be upgrade?

That version is only for SEPM, its for heartbleed vulnerability.. you just need to upgrade the manager  ( (12.1.4.a)...however clients can be of 12.1.4

Is Symantec Endpoint Protection affected by the Heartbleed OpenSSL vulnerability (CVE-2014-0160)

Will Symantec be releasing a version of SEP to address this issue?

Yes, Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1 Release Update 4 Maintenance Patch 1a (RU4 MP1a) and Symantec Network Access Control 12.1. RU4 MP1a (including Starter Edition) are available in all supported languages on Symantec FileConnect. Please see Obtaining the latest version of Symantec Endpoint Protection or Symantec Network Access Control for additional instruction on downloading this release. This version updates the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager to 12.1.4104.4130 to address this issue. There are no updates to the client installation packages included with this release. This Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager update is a complete release and accepts migrations from any previous release of the Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1 product line.

Note: In the installation media, the Versions.txt indicates that the SEP client version was updated as well. This is incorrect and the client versions included with this release are 12.1 RU4 MP1. Only the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager version is updated to 12.1 RU4 MP1a

you need to use the autoupgrade feature for client upgrade, else use third party push or SEPM deployment to push client on the tragetted machines.

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Symantec community.

I would be glad to answer your query.

Latest Symantec version is SEPM 12.1 RU4 MP1a.

Latest release details are available here: http://bit.ly/m0vOJp

Upgrade process is very straightforward, refer the following article prior to start upgrade process.

SEP 11.x to SEP 12.1 Upgrade process graphical overview

    https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/articles/sep-11x-sep-121-upgrade-process-graphical-overview

After successfull SEPM upgrade use auto upgrade feature to upgrade existing SEP 11 RU7 clients.

For auto upgrade refer this article:https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/articles/sepm-121-auto-upgrade

SEP 12.1 employs a side-by-side, replace on reboot installation strategy. Side-by-side means that new files are written to a new folder, referred to as a silo, isolated from the existing operational folder. Because the two versions are separated from each other, during a migration the older software is left running unchanged until the next reboot.

The primary benefit of side-by-side installation and replace on reboot is that the system continues to be protected by the existing software until the new version is in operation after the reboot.

This technique enables you to change the normal portion of the installation path during a migration, when applicable.

You upgrade the clients the same way you've done in the past.
