There is no problem, but you

There is no problem, It is only that you need to make sure SEPM and SEP clients are on RU6 or RU6a before you upgrade them to RU6 MP1.

there will not be any issue

there will not be any issue with that, SEPM with higher version can manage the SEP client with lower version. However the CLient will not have the recent fixes included in  the latest version.

Adding to what every body

Adding to what every body else had said

This maintenance patch cannot be installed over any versions of Symantec Endpoint Protection or Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager prior to RU6. It must be installed over RU6 or RU6a.

RU6MP1 is a mention patch and not a maintenance release, A MP can only be installed on the main build. You can install RU6 over RTM or MR3 or MR4MP2 but not RU6MP1. For that you need to have RU6
It is not recommend to upgrade directly from RU5 or MR4  to RU6MP1

This migration path is not supported.

Possible effects after a direct upgrade to RU6MP1  from a lower version [except RU6]:
Schema Corruption.
Possible dll corruption.
Policies Corruption.
Network breakdown.
Challenges with uninstalling SEP.
