  • 1.  SEPM won't start

    SEPM was working last week - this week the login screen loads, but when I put my credentials in the loading windows pops up, but gets stuck about 15% of the way in and won't go any further.

    What type of database are you using? embedded or SQL? Is the database up and running?

    Using embedded db - how can I check if it's up & running?

    If you go into services.msc scroll down and you'll see Symantec Embedded Database is it running?

    I had that when our AV was running on Server 2003 (and also 2008) a while back - a reboot resolved it.

    Might be worth a reboot.

    The db was running - funnily enough had just triggered a reboot when I saw your message Tony, and yes that has sorted it.

    After the reboot and launching SEPM it prompted for a new p/w so not sure if that was causing the problem, or if the problem has prompted a p/w change.
