SEPP 11.0.6a Win 7 clients show DATABASE OFFLINE, no green dot

Just migrated from SEPP 11.0.4 where we could not get Win 7 systems to take the package properly, they seem to ignore the package settings ( we don't install the network firewall on any of our systems, but every Win 7 machine has it anyway, ingoring the settings ).

Installed 11.0.6a as an upgrade on server, worked well, no errors, rebooted, installed the "Package" that we just created and exported, using the 11.0.6a package, and it properly loaded the package contents, just the AV module, but the computer didn't show up in the list of clients and at the client, troubleshooting shows a status of OFFLINE.

I've ready many reports of Offline status with Win 7 and don't see a resolution.

Server: Server 2003 x64

Clients: XP workstations - all work fine, show server name as database, green dot on shield

Clients: W7 x32/x64 - manually load install package, server/database shows OFFLINE, no green dot.

Any solutions?

I would personally install

I would personally install RU6 MP3 which just came out.  It fixes some bugs, most notably the one you are talking about above where a Win7 machine thinks Symantec is managing the firewall even though you are not applying a firewall policy to it.

You can get it on FileConnect.  Here are the release notes:

First the latest version is

First the latest version is 11.0.6300.x Ru6MP3

Try turning off windows firewall and UAC on the WIn 7 machines.

Try creating a new package and un-install old sep and install new package.

Communication

This is an issue related to communication.

Even if you upgrade it, if the clients are not communicating fine, if should not be of that help.

Please run sylink monitor on the windows 7 machine, and paste the logs so that we can have a look and let you know what might be causing it.
