  • 1.  SEPP11 Manager domain migration

    Hello,

We have 2 SEP11 Managers running, configured as replication partners, version 11.0.4014.26. Both servers are in different domains who must be migrated to a new domain.

Does this seem like an adviseble upgrade/migration path (server needs to change ip):

(fresh) Install 3rd SEP manager in the new domain and add as replication partner, after this configuration remove one of the existing servers as replication partner.

is it Windows domian or SEPM domain?

if it is windows domain, the plan looks good, in any case you set the failover for the clients, so that clients will be communicating to SEPM's if it's primary SEPM is unavailable.

as long as the client and server are able to communicate with each other, domain name change will not have any effect..

u can just leave the way it is.'

    Hi,

(fresh) Install 3rd SEP manager in the new domain and add as replication partner, after this configuration remove one of the existing servers as replication partner -This plan looks good.

If you are changing IP on one of the existing SEPM then SEP clients will not communicate with that manager

Ok, we'll have a go for that plan then. Do we need to wait a couple of days before removing the "older" server(s) from the configuration or has this no influence?

this will not have impact assuming the clients contact the other servers

    Hi,

As you have configured replication partner, so if you are removing any one of the existing server will not cause any influence .

Create correct MSL(Management server list), break replication & make sure all the clients are reporting to correct Server/Manager.

If everything looked good then go ahead and remove existing server.
