Can run an Intelligent updater on that machine to update to the latest virus defs and then try scanning!
The Intelligent Updater is an executable file that can be used to update virus definitions for the Symantec Endpoint Protection client . Run the Daily Certified or Rapid Release Intelligent Updater on the local computer.
Try downloading manually and install or download from another machine and then burn a disc and install!! hopefully that should remove the virus(if detected)
To use the Daily Certified Intelligent Updater to update definitions for the Symantec Endpoint Protection client :
1. Download the Intelligent Updater by going to
http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/defs.download.html
2. Select the language and for the product, select Symantec Endpoint Protection.
3. Locate the correct file to download for Symantec Endpoint Protection 11 depending on whether it's for 32-bit or 64-bit operating system
4. Click the file specified for Symantec Endpoint Protection 11, for example, "20071008-016-v5i32.exe" (for 32-bit) or "20071008-016-v5i64.exe" (for 64-bit) and download to your hard drive.
5. Locate the file that you downloaded, double-click to run the Intelligent Updater.
To use the Rapid Release Intelligent Updater to update definitions for the Symantec Endpoint Protection client :
1. Download the Intelligent Updater by going to
http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/rapidrelease.download.html
2. Locate the correct file to download for Symantec Endpoint Protection 11 depending on whether it's for 32-bit or 64-bit operating system.
3. Click the file specified for Symantec Endpoint Protection 11, for example, "vd2a5020.jdb" (for 32-bit) or "symrapidreleasedefsv5i64.exe" (for 64-bit) and download to your hard drive.
4. Locate the file that you downloaded, double-click to run the Intelligent Updater for 64-bit systems.
5. For 32-bit Manager systems, refer to How to update definitions for Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager using the .jdb file.
6. For 32-bit Client systems, refer to How to manually update definitions for a managed Symantec Endpoint Protection Client using the .jdb file.
