I am looking for information referencing Windows Server 2008 and the Altiris client.

What versions of Altiris Client will run (6.5 and/or 7)? If not when will it be available?

Will it run on Server 2008 Core?

So far I have found nothing conclusive and One Article, forum or blog says Altiris Client 7 will run the next says it will not and is not supported.

What does Altiris and Symantec say?

Server 2008 Core is not

Server 2008 Core is not supported as an install for NS or DS.  I know that DS 6.9 supports Server 2008, but I have not heard if there is suport for Core only.

Sorry I wasn't very helpful

Server 2008 Core doesn't work

primarily because the Altiris Agent install is checking for the existence of Internet Explorer, which isn't present in the 'core' services. However, with standard and enterprise 2008 versions, if you have the latest NS hotfixes installed, you can use NS6 or NS7.
