Server 2008 Database Backup and Restore Wiz

I recently migrated my SEPM install (MR4) to a new server with Windows 2008 standard.  Using Sql 2005 for the database (same as old install).  The Database Backup and Restore Wizard doesn't seem to like Windows 2008.  If I attempt to just run it, I get a message:  "Could not connect to the database.  Cannot backup the site".  If I try running using Run As Administrator, I get a Java VM error:  "Could not find the main class.  Program will exit."

I searched the knowledgebase and the forum, but didn't find any resolution.  Known issue?  Any workaround?

Thanks.

Use SSMS to do it and not SEPM.

"Curiouser and curiouser", said Alice.  Found my own little workaround as well Knottyropes.  The behavior listed above only happens when trying to run the Backup and Restore Wiz from the Start Menu shortcut.  From the SEPM Console>Admin>Servers, using the "Back Up Site Now" task, backup runs just find (although can't restore from here).

I get the same error on 2008

I get the same error on 2008 server.  Is this a problem the Symantec is aware of?

Funny stuff. I recently

Funny stuff.

I recently upgraded our server to server 2008.
I first made a backup using the manager and stored it elsewhere.
Now in 2008 (x64) when I run the backup and restore wizard, I get the same errors SKlassen.

I found this doc:
http://service1.symantec.com/support/ent-security.nsf/854fa02b4f5013678825731a007d06af/c68d849449ab97328825733e0069a691?OpenDocument

It appears that backing up the dbs is not enough.
We will also have to do some manual backing up for the certificated.
Nice and handy procedure again.

Would this be the problem for not being able to connect?
