    Hi

Since upgrading our Symantec Endpoint protection from 11.xx to 12.1.4100.4126 I am seeing a problem where servers hang on "Shutting Down" during reboots for windows updates and have to be hard rebooted (vmware power reset).

The problem only affects our file servers where large numbers of shares are in use.  Other servers (I.e. domain controllers) are fine.

The servers are all Windows 2008 R2 hosted on VMware ESX 5.x.

The upgrade from Version 11 to 12 was carried out first upgrading the management console and then setting an install package for the relevant groups, maintinaing existing features during the upgrade process.

Has anyone seen similar problems previously?

    Thanks

    Ian

What components do you have installed? Have you tried with the latest version, 12.1.5?

Only when patches are installed? other times it works good?

For me it seems to be windows updates.
