  • 1.  Server Error after installing a bunch of updates.

    Posted Sep 30, 2010 02:30 PM

After installing a bunch of recommend updates I get this page when I try to deploy agent. Being very new to the Altiris application suite, I'm not really sure where to start troubleshooting this problem.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks.

I'm really tired -- haven't really slept for days pending some high severity issues here -- but isn't that the beta software version?

It was listed in the Installation Manager as an updated so I've installed; prior to this update everything was working 100% -- I was hoping that updates will be bring some additional functionality and features for me to test. I was wrong. Not sure what to do at this point. I have tried reinstalling some modules but somewhere in the process Symantec Installation Manger stops responding without any error messages and I have to start over.

You may want to check SIM for further updates.  I was seeing this error last week and after returning to SIM and updating a few more packages we found the issue resolved.

Dell Client Manager?  Is it possible that you upgraded the platform prior to a supported upgrade to the DCM?  I know that we've seen problems in the past with this because the DCM releases after the SMP is updated.  Generally.

Also, the suggestion for the future updates - did you find any other updates?  Where does your installation stand now?

I had the same error after chosing to install all the updates, I noticed that the Altiris services were no longer listed in the system.  I tried to run a repair but it failed every time.

I checked the Install New Product secion of SIM and I noticed that IT Management Suite MR2 was listed as a new product Even though it had been installed prior to the updates running.

So I clicked on it and let it install again, now everything is running OK
