Server Error in /Altiris Application
Hi there,
I've just installed DS by running the executable file that I've downloaded from Altiris web site and it works fine. However, when I tried to open the deployment tab from the Altiris web console, I received an error message (please see below). I have NS (ver 6.0.6074 SP3) and DS installed on the same server.
I have searched the file named WebConsoleDefaultNS.aspx but did not find it on our server.
I'm new to Altiris and have googled but still can't find any solution.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Did you install the Windows version of DS first?
I first had installed NS then DS from NS web console. The installation went well but, then I could not install a new deployment server from NS console (in the deployment tab) so I removed DS ( from add and remove program), downloaded and re-installed DS from .exe file. Since then the Deployment tab hasn't worked.

There is a Windows version of DS and a Web version of DS. The Web version can be installed thru the NS Console but first you have to install the Windows version which will actually setup DS. Without that first there is nothing to display in the Deployment tab.

It can be confusing on seeing the relation, yet how different the two programs are. Also, make sure, since you are getting a 404 error, that the virtual directory was actually created in IIS. I have seen where the vir dir doesn't get created, it will have a blue 'globe' in place of the normal 'gear' symbol for a virtual directory.

I have rebuilt our server, installed NS,DS(.exe) then DS(from NS).
It works fine now.
