The server is Windows SBS 2011.  It is running Symantec Endpoint Protection SBE version 12.1.4013.4013.  Symantec Mail Security is also on the server (latest version).  The server is fully patched.

I upgraded the client's server last month to the latest version of SEP SBE and the server is now reporting Event 513, source CAP12.  This happens during backup using Backup Exec 2012 with the latest service pack 3.

As I understand it EraserUtilRebootDrv is a pretty important file.  Anyone know what's going on here?  A search of this forum and a Google search did not turn up any concrete answers.

Have you tried running the SymHelp tool on it to see what comes up?

    Symantec Help (SymHelp) Download

The only thing the SymHelp tool reports is that the server's installed version of Symantec Mail Security is newer than the latest version. See attached image. Is this tool reliable and up to date?

It checks for an update each time it's run. If available it will download and install.

    Latest version is 2.1.20.160

SymHelp Version 2.1.20.160 is the version I downloaded and ran. It clearly is not up to date. I opened a case online, so I am going to try to resolve the issue that way.

Interesting, not sure how it pulls the info than..either way that would've been my suggestion, to open a support ticket.

Not sure what they will say about having mail security on the same server as the SEPM. The recommendation is to have a dedicated box for the SEPM, if possible of course.

I have installed the Symantec Protection Suite SBE on many Windows SBS's. These are small clients with one server. I usually don't have problems. The problem I posted about has occurred at two clients with identical servers, Windows 2011 SBS. Neither of the two clients had a problem until they were updated to the latest version of Protection suite. The problem occurs when the server backs up with Backup Exec 2012 service pack 3.
