    Hi,

I have this problem. I tried to plug in my external hardisk into my server (Windows Server 2008 Standard) and the server hang and unable to read the external harddisk. I suspect that it has got to do with my symantec anti-virus. i tried to uninstall it and tried again to plug in my external harddisk and it works prefectly. But i tried to install back the symantec anti-virus and it hangs again.

Currently, i am using the Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1_RU1_MP1. Any solutions to this??

    Thanks & Regards,

    Ray

    Hello,

Have you installed full feature set of SEP 12.1 RU1 MP1 on the Server 2008?

What happens if you uninstall the Application & Device Control and Network Threat Protection of SEP 12.1 from the Add/ Remove Programs, Restart the machine and check again.

    Let us know.

    Hello,

Yes. I installed the full feature of SEP 12.1.

The SEP 12.1 is a unmanaged client.

I will try and let you know.

    Thanks & Regards,

    Hello,

Creating a ADC policy on a Unmanaged Client is not possible.

    Hello,

    Could you define "Foreign objects"?

In SEP 12.1 RU1 MP1, you can create Scan exceptions for Application, Application to Monitor, Application Control, Extension, file, folder, known risk, Trusted web domain, Tamper protection exceptions, DNS or Host file exceptions.

    Hope that helps!!
