Server-Side Restore From Vault?

Hi,

I'm running EV 8.0.2, with Exchange 2003 SP2.  I don't want the users to be able to restore all of their archived emails back to their mailboxes, so I want to disable the 'restore from vault' functionality and remove that button from the EV toolbar in Outlook.  But if I did that, is there a way that I could do restores from vault on behalf of the user, from the server-side (push the vault messages back to the user's mailbox)?  And if there is a way to do it, can I select which messages get restored?

Thanks in advance....

sort of.

Hi Charles,

There are several options.

Removing the icon is one.
When going to the Search Safes page, then click browser-search, you will see the possibilities to create a 'basket' to be filled with items from the vault, and eventually being restored to the mailbox. This is a user action and not fitted to restore the whole archive to the mailbox.

You as an admin, you can export archive to original mailbox (in the vac, righclick archives, choose export) there are some criteria to select. Even subject and sender and date/time so restoring a singel message should be possible.
