I have been using Altiris Patch Mgmt 7 for 1 year and I cannot figure out how to do this so I thought I would post the question.
Is there a way I could send a notification email to myself showing the status of servers after they were patched? For example: I set patches to apply to a specific filter. When the maintenance window opens for that filter the servers get the pending patches. They automatically reboot after the patch cycle. If some of those servers don't return to a running state, how can I have the Altiris NS send an email to me advising there is a problem?
I know I know some of you will say to use another product to monitor server status (ie Nagios, or Whatsup, etc.) but I am trying to figure out if the Altiris agent can trigger an email alert from the Notification Server if the Agent doesn't come back up after being patched.
