Desktop Email Encryption

On my Windows 10 Pro platform, since updating to 10.4.0 (Build 1100) of Symantec Encryption Desktop (uninstall/install), my acounts configured in Symantec Encryption Desktop periodically disappear.  I tried going back to 10.3.2 MR 11 but was unable to do so with a complaint about failure to register a dll.  I have write protected the pgppolicy.xml file but this seems like a hokey work-around.  This is a standalone client and is not tied to any managed servers or policies.

The PGP log shows the following around the time of failure

    <John@TheAtas.org> with subject: Test [nopgp]
IE 14:24:02 Processing message from John G. Ata <Email> with subject: Test [nopgp]
IE 14:24:09 Processing message from John Ata <Email> with subject: Test
IE 14:24:09 Creating new account list entry for 0.0.0.0  <=== Suspect this is the failure
    DN 14:24:42 Policy update skipped
    DN 14:24:50 Policy update skipped
    DN 14:24:50 Policy update skipped
    DN 14:24:50 Policy update skipped
    DN 14:24:52 Policy update skipped
IE 14:25:04 Processing message from User <email>> with subject: Test

Opening up Desktop Encryption shows no accounts/policies configured - they need to be recreated.

This is easily reproducible on my system

Update: with the latest release 10.4.0 MP1 and Windows 10 Pro Anniversary update, I am encountering the same difficulty.  The workaround I've used is to write-protect the C:\Users\John\Application Data\PGP Corporation\PGP\PGPpolicy.xml file.
