Client Management Suite

Hello,

Their 2-3 symantec product is running, so i am cofused about services that which service for which product. can anyone have idea that which service is used by altiris client?

The Symantec Management ("Altiris") Agent runs as the "Symantec Management Agent" Service, AeXNSClient, executable AeXNSAgent.exe.

The Deployment Server client on Windows XP/2003 machines is the "Altiris Client Service", AClient, executable AClient.exe. On Vista/Win 7/2008 machines it is the "Altiris Deployment Agent", executable DAgent.exe.

Do AClient/DAgent still exist in ITMS 7.1?  Not really sure because I haven't set up Deployment in 7.1 yet.  If how I used my Altiris 6 server is any indication, I used NS almost exclusively since I had bad luck with getting stuff like HIIS working to my satisfaction on DS 6.9.

No, the AClient and DAgent only come with Deployment Server 6.n, not Deployment Solution 7.n, which is basically a different product.

But the AClient or DAgent can coexist with the Symantec Management (Altiris) Agent with the Deployment Plug-in.

Deployment Server 6.9 is a great backup for SMP 7.0, if you need to cleanly reinstall Agents etc.
