Service & Asset Management Suite 7

SErvice Desk 7 includes Change Management.  Client Management Suite includes Inventory Solution.... Asset Management has not been released, beta sometime in December is the rumor on the street.

So the Asset Management Suite has not been released for version 7

If you're interested in using other solutions, but have Service & Asset Management Suite 6 don't forget Connector.  You could use that to continue to populate your asset information on your NS6 from the Inventory collected from your NS7

So, This means that, to use Inventory Solution 7, I need to get Cleint Management Suite 7. however, I don't need all the suite, I only need Inventory Solution.
In version 6, Inventory solution was a part of the Service & Asset Management Suite as well as the HD solution. so, now i have to get two licenses for the whole CMS to use only Inventory Solution ?!

Isn't there a way to get only the Inventory Solution 7 without having to pay for the whole Client Management Suite license?

Forgive me I often forget a lot of people are using just Asset Management Suite without the Client Management Suite stuff. 

I'm no exactly sure how you'll be affected with this change over.  I'd recommend contacting Symantec directly to see if they can separate the solutions out.  With the new licensing model I'm not sure what is possible.

But, no you shouldn't have to buy Client Management Suite to use Inventory 7.  You may have to wait for Service and Asset Management Suite 7 to be released as a package, but I'd hope that's not the case.

Well, Any idea when this is going to be released?

Asset Management is currently planned for a Q1 2010 release.  Closed Beta begins in early December with an open Beta planned for the end of December (Merry Christmas!) :-)

CMDB for example was release in July of '09.  Connector is out as well.  Basic Contract stuff came out with CMDB, but the big thing still pending is all the SW License contract types.
