If a 7.5 Servicedesk is setup with a 7.1 sp2 SMP will it be an issue in the future when the SMP is upgraded?

You'd like to think it wouldn't be. When second line support told me that SD 7.5 was due out before SMP 7.5 I queried the compatibility and they said the SMP is only used for licensing.

I wouldn't believe that it would be an issue. What's more facinating is that the SD docs all point to SMP 7.1 and mention nothing about SMP 7.5 so there will be a whole lot of editing going on! There are queries to the CMDB that can be made but there's nothing complex at all in SD 7.5 as it seems now (just finished installing a test box) so any upgrades down the road shouldn't affect it too much, at least in the short term.
We don't for see any specific issues with upgrading the SMP to 7.5 once it is released. As SMP 7.5 hasn't been released we can't specifically reference that version in the ServiceDesk 7.5 documentation. As the release of SMP 7.5 approaches we will do the necessary testing to confirm that no issues exist between the two products. If any are discovered during that time we will address them.
