    Moi Moi,

we have a problem with our SMP Server, the Altiris Service doesn´t start. So at the SD WebInterface at my client  I get the message:

"Total license count is 0. There is a problem with the site license or the license provider." (becaus SD Servers gets no License)

In the Eventlog at smp server we get this messages: AeXSvc, LogicBase.ServerExtensions.exe, ASP.NET 2.0.50727.0 (see attached File)

I have found some similar problem constellation in the forum but now solution - has anyone an idea ?

Repair or SW Update of SMP via SIM also doesn´t work, also failure info - ... not possible

Or how can I set up a new SMP Server, what could be a problem - do I loose a lot of date (configuration, etc. of servicedesk) - we only use ServiceDesk 7.1 ?

    thanks a lot

I would recommend contacting support to address the issue with getting your SMP server back up and running. As setting up a new SMP server could be more work then you want to deal with depending on what solutions you've got installed.

As far as ServiceDesk is concerned pointing it to a new SMP server is simply a matter of updating the SMP information in Credentials Manager. Once you've done this & restarted services it will start communicating with the new SMP.

Besides licensing information ServiceDesk pulls department, location, user, and asset data from the SMP.

Thanks, I have opened a call and will write down the solution (hopefully) as soon as possible :-)
