Hi Guys,

After i upgraded from SEP 12 to SEP 12.1 RU1, Iam facing lot of issues like as i posted in the forum already..

1. Limited connectivity Error in wireless area or wireless itself not connecting..

2. Un authorized changes made to windows in vista machines.

3. There are multiple problems, browser intrusion malfunctioning errors in windows XP machines.

4. Symantec services are stopped frequently and when i tried to open symantec client interface.please find the screen shot for the services stopping error. if i started again also the service is getting stopped because of that my definitions are not updating..

kindly look in to these issues..nedd help at the earliest..My users are now resuqesting to remove Symantec itself.

This can happen if you have setup a separate machine with Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager 12.1 and push out client package to a 64bit SEP client that has the default Application and Device Control policy called Protect client files and registry keys enabled.

Try Disabling the "Protect client files and registry keys" rule before migrating 64bit client

It was from SBE 12.0 to SEP 12.1 ?

or 

SEP 12.1 to SEP 12.1 RU1 ?

Does the problem still persists if you manually started Symantec from the Start menu?

Open the MS Services and look for the following:

• Symantec Endpoint Protection
• Symantec Management Client

Both should be started among other Symantec components. Except for the Symantec Network Access Control.

If the repair fails. Try getting a new install package, run that and chose either to repair or uninstall and then install the new package.

This may also happen when Windows MSI is not registered correctly with the Windows OS.

Re-registering the Microsoft Installer (MSI) with the OS resolved the problem.  Once the service is registered correctly, the sylink.xml is processed correctly.

Now what i did is repaired the symantec and the services are started..but the status is showing as manual and when  i tried to change to automatic it is giving error.please find the screenshot for the error.

Is this issue happened only after upgrade from 12.1 to 12.1 RU1 ?

If answer is yes.......do one thing .......install SEP 12.1 RU1 fresh on 2 machines and monitor the result.

Check and confirm the Logon as aacount for this services.

Hi- Your issue is close or still pending?

Some of the systems are still having the same problem

Is there window xp installation??

If window xp then go to service

Click on "Symantec Management Client"

Then log on tab. Uncheck the "Allow service to intract with desktop".

Start the service, it definately work
