Is there an option that can be set to scan files on writes only? Or is it simply both reads and writes and it cannot be changed?

The conntctor on your NAS is what tells us to scan the files, so that would be something you would bring up to your NAS provider.

You would be opening yourself up to a security risk. If we missed a new threat on upload, we are more likely to catch it on download.

Hi Brian,

It would help if you specified which NAS device you were using.  Like JDavis said, it would occur on the Filer side.  If you have a NetApp Filer, the answer is yes, but again it would be done on the Filers side.

Thanks,
Ben

Yes, we use NetApp Filers.

The the option to scan on file write nees to be set on the NetApp Filers not the scan engine.
