I have a Windows SBS 2003 Server with SQL 2000 MSDE already installed with Veritas 10.x.  In order to replace Veritas 10.x with 12.5 I will need SQL 2005 Express installed.  The question is will I be able to have MSDE 2000 and SQL 2005 Express exist on the same server and has anyone had to do this in the past?  What was the experience and did it work?   Thanks in advance for any advice anyone may have on this.

Hi Bernie, Not sure if you

Hi Bernie,

Not sure if you need to have SQL 2000 MSDE installed or not, but I'd go with only having SQL Express 2005 if you can.
However, it seems possible to have them co-existing on the same server. Read up here:

As long as the default instance names are different, it appears possible, but I would suggest trying this in a test environment before doing this live.

Laters!
