SFHA Solutions 6.0.1: About virtualization solutions for Linux environments
Veritas Storage Foundation and High Availability (SFHA) Solutions 6.0.1 supports multiple virtualization technologies for Linux environments.
Virtualization technologies enable the creation of isolated virtual machine environments on the same physical system. The virtualized computing environment is abstracted from all physical devices, enabling you to consolidate and centrally manage your workloads on a system.
For information on which Symantec products are supported on which virtualization technologies, see:
SFHA Solutions products provide the following functionality for Kernel-based Virtual Machine (KVM) virtual machines:
- Storage visibility
- Storage management
- High availability
- Cluster failover
- Replication support
For SFHA Solutions support and recommended product configurations for KVM technology for Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES), see:
For information on supported use cases for SFHA Solutions in KVM environments, see:
Veritas Cluster Server (VCS) supports the following Linux virtualization technologies in addition to KVM:
- Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization (RHEV) technology
- Microsoft Hyper-V technology
- Oracle Virtual Machine (OVM) technology
For information on supported VCS configurations and use cases for RHEV environments, see:
- Supported Veritas Cluster Server configurations for the Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization environment use cases supported by Veritas Cluster Server
For information on supported VCS virtual-to-virtual clustering (in-guest) options for RHEV, Hyper-V, and OVM environments, see:
