SFHA Solutions 6.0.1: Reattaching failed disks using the Veritas Volume Manager (VxVM) vxreattach command
Created: 01 Feb 2013 | Updated: 01 Feb 2013
You can perform a reattach operation if a disk could not be found at system startup, or if VxVM is started with some disk drivers unloaded and unloadable (causing disks to enter the failed state). If the underlying problem has been fixed (such as a cable or controller fault), use the vxreattach command to reattach the disks without plexes being flagged as STALE. The reattach must occur before any volumes on the disk are started.
For more information on the reattach operation, see:
- Restoring communication between host and disks after cable disconnection (Linux only)
- Reattaching failed disks
