Endpoint Protection

Hi all, I have doing some intial investigation's into Shared Insight Cache for our SEP12 deployment. I have been reading the "Shared Insight Cache - Best Practices and Sizing guide" http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH174123&actp=search&viewlocale=en_US&searchid=1341985152656.

In this document uder the SIC server Placement it talks about having a SIC server in each VDI Cluster. I would like to know Syamantec's exact definition of VDI Cluster is? The reason I as is for us this could be the difference between 12 and 2 SIC servers for our virtual environment.

the VDI cluster is the place where clusters of ( number of) of Virtual machines exist.

for example if you have 4 different places on WAN where there are VM's , you need to have SIC server at each of these 4 locations ( best practices)

Thanks Pete, for the that information. We have clusters of Host servers at each site hence the confusion in the term cluster we where haivng.
