We have a BackupExec 2010 R3 server which suffers from the tape library/drives going offline at regular intervals.

Our configuration is exactly as described TECH69446 in that we have a clustered NetApp configuration which is connected to a Quantum i40/80 tape library by fibre.

The article states that this issue can be reduced by various rejigging of backup jobs etc and this has been done without any noticable benefit.
