...Ladies, Gentlemen and Magnificent Gurus of EV,
I know this should be easy to find: that there is certain to be a beautifully crafted 'How to' or 'Best Practise' document in the website somewhere.
My searches so far have onl;y picked up the post traumatic documents, where things didn't go as foreseen.
I am trying to get a plan together, to upgrade our Enterprise Vault ver 2007 7.5 SP3 (32bit) server to version 8.0.SP5 (Same server, same environment), as a step along the way to upgrading to EV 9.x.
Please can someone point me in the direction of these words of wisdom ?
thank you very much !

You would need to upgrade to EV 8 and complete the post-installation tasks before moving to EV 9. The process is described in the Upgrade_Instructions.pdf/chm
Read through the release notes, and upgrade instructions
I would also suggest using the online release notes versus the ones on the media kit. This is the link to them : http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/337277.htm

If you are using CA / DA, make sure you upgrade in correct path
If this response answers your concern, please mark it as a "solution"
There are a couple of technotes and some articles here on connect:

Rahul G, Tony Sterling,
thankyou both very much for the pointers. I will begin reading immediately :)
Please may I ask that there be a distinctly easy to find page / subheading, so that other seekers of such wisdom can find it easily ?
again, thanks !
