  • 1.  Should I use the Default ports with CSP

    Posted Aug 29, 2013 01:59 PM

I'm planning a new CSP deployment involving about 50 servers.

They run various applications including Apache http, Apache Tomcat, IIS, SQL Server, Websphere etc.....

These servers support multi-tear applications and as a result not all behind the same firewall.

My question is, Can I use the deafult ports for communication between the agents and the management server. (Port 443)

Will this be a problem on web servers that already use port 443.

The console and the management server will be on the same physical box, so I'm not concerned about those ports.

The SQL server port should not be a problem either.

Before I request that ports be opend on out firewalls for these servers I want to make sure that port 443 is not going to cause a problem.

    Thanks in Advance

    Rob

you should not have to change the communication ports for CSP. multiple applications can use 443 through a proxy or firewall because the source ip is different per server. The alternate CSP agent tcp port is 2222 & can use this if there is a concern with using port 443.
