Dear community members, I would like to have your exprt opinion and real word experience about the subject matter. I have Symantec Messaging Gateway and DLP Email Prevent. I would like to know from your experience which option is best to use whether to use forward or reflect mode with Symantec Messaging Gateway?

    Your comments are appreciated. Thanks

    Hello,

As far as it is possible i will always select forward mode :

    - less traffic to manage on mail gateway plugged to DLP (in reflect mode it will receive twice initial amount of traffic)

    - Easier to manage (and to debug)

simplest way to do it is to plugged you rmail system to DLP (exchange / lotus / ....) then forward message to Symantec SMG in order to manage usual SMG actions and may be to manage also emails which was tagged to be blocked by DLP.

    Hi,

I would suggest you to go for Forward mode. I did a successful integration of NW Prevent for Email with SMG in forward mode last year.

Architecture: Zimbra --> DLP --> SMG

But if DLP goes down, so does your email flow. Please consider this point while implementing.
