    We have a Symantec Messaging Gateway, running as a virtual apliance on a vsphere server .

    When we configured it we gave it 80gb of storage, which is not needed, and we would like to shrink it to either 60gb or 40gb which was the recommended .

    Is this possible somehow ?

    The Symantec Messaging Gateway should have been thick provisioned which can make it difficult to srink, also there is no access to the root account to make changes to paritions and filesystem paramteres. Symantec would recommend building a new SMG with the desired drive size then installing and restoring a back up to that device.
