Hello

I would like to create a deployment package for doPDF and install in silent mode. I tried using the switches /s but I still got the first dialog to enter the install language etc.

Thank you in advance

hello

thank you for your mail but the exe to msi convertor is for Altiris SVS Setup file (Software_Virtualization_Agent.exe). I tried converting my doPDF exe file but got a message that the application was for SVA agent

hi

I installed the application exetomsi. it converts the exe to a msi successful but when installing the msi, it just opens the dialogue to configure the application exetomsi. the converted msi does not work

Do you know what sort of setup executable it is? Innosetup, Installshield etc?

Sometimes the /S is case sensitive, needs to be in uppercase. Might need to be /q.

Can you unzip the exe with 7-zip to find an msi?

If you run setup.exe and wait at the language prompt can you find the temporary install files it extracts?

Hi andykn101

No i cant tell the type of install, it does not say when i try to install the doPDF.exe file. on the title bar, it just says Installation - doPDF 7 printer

no the cmds /S and /q does not work- it still prompts for the language to be selected.

when the exe unzipped, no msi files found, just idata, bss, itext etc files.

what do you mean to "run the setup.exe"? the only file that I have is the doPDF.exe file.

thank you

Yes, that was the exe I meant.

See if it's an Innosetup executable:

Or some installshield setup files use

 -i silent

Otherwsie you might need to use a setup capture program like Wise, InstallShield/AdminStudio or, if you still have Deployment Server 6.n, RapidInstall.

That sounds like it's a Innosetup package, you should be able to create an answer file if you want to customise the install parameters.
