  • 1.  SIM Error While Validating Installation Files

    Hi guys,

    Anyone having experienced those error messages below? Is there anyway around this? I have tried to delete and download those files again with no luck.

    I did not find anything yet on Support. Any help would be much appreciated.

    Hi!

    Did you try to rename symantec_v2.pl.xml.zip file from C:\Program Files\Altiris\Symantec Installation Manager\Installs\Altiris\ and then re-open SIM to download a new symantec_v2.pl.xml.zip again?

    Thanks for your reply. Did that and same error. Just to clarify, this is a clean install. SIM is up to date.

    While looking at SIM logs, I'm getting File hash does not match: reference hash. See below:

    Hi Rafael,

    1. I've checked on clean Windows 2008 R2 SP1 x64 Server with SIM 7.6.71 and I don't see such problems. All msi packages were downloaded for chosen ITMS 7.6 and successfully validated.

    2. You have same "DefaultPLSource" for SIM in registry?

    "InstallDir" with "PackageRepositoryPath" regkeys values are correct?

    3. You've already tried to delete these msi packages and re-download them back, then deletion of everything from C:\Program Files\Altiris\Symantec Installation Manager\Installs\Altiris\ and re-download everything, will doesn't make sense...

    Igor,

    1- SIM version 7.6.71 and I'm using a Win 2012 R2 x64 Datacenter Edition. For what I know on Release Notes, this guy works. 

    2- These values are the same and appointing to the correct SIM location.

    Looks very strange...

    I'll suggest you to ask support to deliver a created offline installation package of ITMS 7.6 release with HF1 as well. Then you can delete all downloaded packages on your server and extract all packages from delivered offline installation ITMS 7.6 HF1.exe package.

    Hi Igor,

    Thank you for your support on this. I had a case opened and they sent me the MSI's that I was having trouble working, for installation and they worked. They did not told what was wrong. But good thing I could install the software after all.
