  • 1.  Single EXE Package Can't be Installed On Windows 8

    Posted Dec 18, 2013 10:07 PM

    Problem:

I exported exe installer packages of SEP12 RU4 respectively for 32bit and 64bit Windows. It worked on Windows 7 and early version. But on Windows 8/Windows 8.1,it coundn't be installed successully. The installer just quit when the progress nearly finished.I checked the installation log, nothing unexpecable was found. However,I could install it successfully with the original package shipped with SEP12 RU4 installation CD.There should be no corruption of the package I generated , because it did work on Windows XP/2003/7/2008.

Did this issue happen to anyone of you?Could you please give me some suggestions?

    SEPM Version : 12.1.4013.4013

Updated: I actually upgraded to SEPM MU4 from SEPM 12.1 MU2.Does this matters?

    Updated 2 :

I reinstalled SEPM 12.1.4013.4013 with recovery files (without restoring the Databse).Problem solved. Thanks for you guys help.

Yes,for several times so far. I think it's not the problem of the package because I can't successfully install it on Windows xp/2003/7/2008.

It seems that the 7zip self-extraction package I downloaded from the internal website of my company was corrupted.I downloaded it again and reinstalled the SEPM with recovery files.Problem solved. Thanks to you all.
