  • 1.  Site Server on a DC?

    Hello,

    I need to know if we can install a Site Server with Package and Task services on a Domain Controller (DC).

     

    We currently have about 10 Package Servers (NS6) that are DC and I want to plan our migration to CMS7.

    so, I would clear that with the necessary security people. Other than that, I've used DC's for site servers without issues.

    I've run into issues with setting up a  package server on a domain controller.  Basically, can it be done, yes.  Is it a good idea, no.  It is not supported by Symantec.

    Thanks for your link to this article,

    I had figured out that it wouldn't be a goo idea. I currently have 93 PS and 24 are DC. I will make sure that those will not have Task Service.

    I will also try to decommission some of them.
