Suppose I have one slf file for SEP 12.1 , 1800 user's .But all of my client's are under different S.PM server 11.0.6......on different place(as attached pdf). Now If I migrate them to 12.1. What will do with only one slf file. Should I put this slf file all of my SEP 12.1 server or else.? There is also another problem with taking update on my existing SEP server (That could be for being late on renewal of license).

    Hello,

The .slf file used for SEP 12.1 is based on computer machines you are carrying on your environment and not users.

Secondly, since you have a number of SEPM's, question arises are these using replication?

If yes, then you may not have to worry about the License. You can install 1 license on 1 Primary SEPM and  that should take care of it.

However, if you have different Independent SEPM's then you have the choice.

    1) Either Call Licensing Department and get them split according to the requirement

    OR

    2) Use the same .slf file on the other SEPM's (as this License is registered in the name of 1 single company)

    Hope that helps!!

Thank you verymuch Mithun. So I can use that slf file to all of my new SEP server 12.1. I am not going to call license department because already 6 month's wasted because of one reason, I don't want to waste more time.

Another problem is they were using 11.x & they didn't renew license for almost six months. Is that could be the reason for not taking the update of SEPM server.

They've renewed the license recently .

    Hello,

I don't think this could be the cause the clients not taking updates from SEPM.

I would recommend you to work on this Article:
