  • 1.  SKM and GKM modes for Gateway email and netshare, so how they will work in single PGP UN?

    Posted Jun 28, 2012 12:24 AM

    Hi,

I have a question regarding the key modes and the functionalities related to both gateway and netshare.

When "System->enable mail proxies" is enabled, we understand that the gateway email functionality is enabled and when "Consumers->Consumer Policy->PGP Des->Desktop->Netshare-> PGP Netshare for windows" is enabled then netshare functionality is enabled.

so we are planning to use both gateway email and netshare together in single server, however we are planning to use SKM for Gateway email and GKM for Netshare.

so is it possible? if not, then what could be the best option for that setup?

Yes you can do that.  You apply keymodes to policies.  So you will have a Netshare policy and a Gateway email policy, and assign different keymodes to each policy.

weevil, thanks for the response. so you mean, i can create different groups with the different set of users and assign the different consumer policy to those groups with the different keys enabled in those policies right?. Pl confirm.

Thats exactly right.  You can have a GKM Policy, CKM Policy, SKM Policy, its completely up to you how you implement.
