Deployment Solution

Hi,

I am deploying an image to a IBM T400 laptop at a remote site. The image is picked up on the local share at the remote site but it seems to take 01:54:03 to deploy.

Any suggestions? I have logging enabled on the PXE menu, but only for errors.

This is extremely frustrating because we have so many laptops to deploy.

Anyone point me in the right direction?

NOTE: When i am at the main site it takes no more the 20mins.

What automation environment are you using? Are you using the driver specific for that NIC or the UNDI driver?

Using WINPE and a specific driver for that laptop.

Just an update - i decided to turn off all the logging and changed the LAN cable. Not sure which one it was but the time has now reduced to 00:32:36

I don't think the logging would cause that. It could have been a bad cable. Another possibility is that network traffic is less when you pushed the image this time.

This could point to a driver issue. make sure you are using the correct one in WinPE.
