We are currently using PGP Desktop 10.2 MP3 on OSX 10.7.2.

Is anyone else experiencing extremely slow encryption times on new Macbooks Pros?

On one of our laptops it took 7 days to encrypt the 700GB hard drive. The hard drive eventually encrypts, but just extremely slowly.

seems to occur on new MacBooks Pros with 750GB SATA drives

PGP has a hotfix that has been somewhat effective in resolving these issues (10.2 MP3 HF1) open a ticket to get access.

We tried it on one affected machine and it was not successfully in reducing encryption time, the computer seems to running normally after encryption.

We are using 10.2 MP2 and really do not want to upgrade the server and hundreds of clients everytime one thing becomes an anoyance.

I have the same issues with brand new Macbook pro's taking up to 5 days to excrypt.

Another issue I see with this is that these macs are taking 3 or 4 times the performance hit while encrypting than our PC's do.  Funny thing, our PC's are running i5 processors and the macs have the latest and greates i7's.

I do not think I can handle Symantec telling me we have to upgrade 800 people and 2 servers to resolve another annoying issue.

I believe this issue has now been fixed.
