Does disabling NTP makes the copying faster?

What is the version used?

DO you have windows firewall enabled as well?

is this VM?

What;s the time difference for copying the file with NTP and without NTP?

What is the size of data on your file server? How many are the number of users - total and concurrent?

Is at least one full scan done?

As Pete asked, is Windows firewall also enabled?

Sorry, please also provide OS details of your file server...

What is the scan setting...on access scan or only on modified scan?

Thanks & Regards,

Steps suggested by Mithun would definitely  help .

I have question for you as you said the source is a R2Sp1 what is the target.

Try R2SP1 to Win 2k3 /XP and check the speed

Try R2SP1 to Win7 and check the speed

Copy a single file in both the case and time it.

Hi,

change virus policy to "scan when a file is modified" option

-> Clients

-> Select the group

-> Policies

-> Virus and Spyware protection

-> Auto Protect

-> Advanced scanning and monitoring

change to "scan when a file is modified"

Thanks.
