    Hi all,

I have a customer (running SEP 12.1 RU2 and IE9) which is complaining about a slow down of Internet Explorer after installing SEP.

The other browsers are running correctly, with SEP too... The problem is just for IE.

We tried removing the download protection feature but without success.

    Do you have any idea?

    Thank you

    Simone

As mentioned in the other thread

please ensure the machine has all latest (Januar 2013 Microsoft patches).

Is the SEP Browser IPS Protection Addin = SEP Vulnerability Protection enabled on IE?

    Yes that one is enabled.

I tried to disable it too, but nothing changed.

I tried reinstalling the SEP without the Advanced Download Protection feature but nothing changed.

Firefox working without issues? It is covered by the IPS Browser Addin as well.

As disabling it didn't work please try to disable one component of SEP at a time to find out wchich one is responsible. What are the other components installed on the client?

    What OS is the client?

For the testing purpose first try to uninstall the SEP and use the IE without SEP.

If it work then if you have the old version of SEP client, install the same and ceck the performance of the IE.

IF it working in slowness with old version then its mean that issue in IE version.

Try the same and get the answer

Also might be worth checking if the client firewall has the "Stealth" options enabled or not e.g https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/enable-tcp-resequencing-121-ru2-slows-down-certain-webpages

And does that affect browsing in general.. or just IE (just to rule out any FW related things)
