Why is there no smaller Upgrade files for SEP 12.1 RU5 ?

Is there are reason for the inflated size?

Symantec_Endpoint_Protection_12.1.5_Win32-bit_Client_EN.exe is only 40mb compressed, but uncompressed it 130mb.

Symantec_Endpoint_Protection_12.1.5_Win64-bit_Client_EN.exe is only 40mb compressed, but uncompressed it 160mb.

I need to deploy the upgrade to 7000 clients and 600 servers and sending each circa of 150mb is a very large an upgrade.

In the past smaller upgrade files have been created when upgrading from 12.1 Ru2 to RU3 and the same for Ru3 to RU4.

These were very helpful especially when performing huge deployments via SCCM 2012 as it saved considerable bandwidth and time.

We dont want to be forced to move to altenate solution, but seeing as this upgrade fixes a NIST vulnerability rated 6.9 (MEDIUM) we are keen to deploy ASAP, but the current install files are very large in comparrison to previous upgrades.

Or is there a way to deply the downloaded EXE files from file connect uncompressed somehow so this uncompresses and installs?

what you are looking at is a full package, check the client only packages

You can choose auto upgrade feature,You can assgin upgrade package group wise
