    Dear All,

    i installed SEPM RU6 in Windows 2008 R2, i have a problem the client cant commicate with SEPM6.
    i install and setup Symantec Support tool,please adivce for error below.....
    "SMC Service is not in the list of Microsoft Firewall program exceptions"
    "Symantec Email is not in the list of Microsoft Firewall program exceptions."

    By Default it does get added to WIndows Firewall Application list however if it is not added you can add it manually.
    And if you plan to keep your windows firewall enabled make sure you give port exception for TCP 8014 which is required for client/server communication.

    go to control panel - windows Firewall - Exceptions- Add Program - Browse -

    for SMC Service

    C\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\Smc.exe

    For Symantec Email
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\ccApp.exe

    For SNAC Service
    C:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\SNAC.EXE

    For Adding Port TCP 8014.
    Next to Add Program click ADD Port-
    Name: Give it any name like SEP Port
    Port Number:8014
    TCP

    Which is the port you installed SEPM ?Is it 8014 only?
    8014 is the default port which is customizable at the time of SEPM installation.How do you concluded windows firewall is blocking the communication between SEP client and manager.?
    Are you tried by disabling windows firewall?

    i tried to disabled the windows firewall but still the same.
    when i ran symantec support tool the message came

    open the client interface next to the clock the yello sheild of symantec
    click on help and support
    select troubleshooting
    check the group name, u wil find the client in that group.

    Green dot is present means it is able to communicate with SEPM.It is also possible that your client is in user mode.In SEPM do a search for this client--First by using IP address and second by using logged in user name..The client may be present in wrong group also.

    It is funny buy some times in the groups clients will be displayed in multiple pages,you may have to click on next for viewing this.....
